ENTITY PROFILE
The PTFE is an industry-led tool at the service of the railways sector, set up to defi ne a “long-
term vision” and the “Strategic Research Agenda” (SRA), with the aim of achieving the
scientific and technological advances required to ensure the competitiveness, sustainability
and growth in the Spanish railway sector.

Its primary mission is to align the strategies of the different stakeholders, concentrating the
R&D efforts, act transmission mechanism of this R&D to the market, channeling employment
generation and creation of innovative companies through projects and other performances. In
the space research area, its mission is to reduce fragmentation. It has defi ned the “SRA”,
which is permanently being updated. The PTFE takes part at the ERRAC and its aim is to
strengthen the position of the Spanish railway Industry in Europe FOUNDATIONS, ASSOCIATIONS AND OTHERS
